The vascular system is the network of blood vessels found throughout the body. Vascular diseases are very common, especially as people age. Many people have these diseases and don't know it, because they rarely cause symptoms in the early stages. Vascular diseases include stroke (a clogged or narrowed blood vessel of the brain), pulmonary embolism (a blood clot breaks loose and travels to the heart and lungs), aneurysms (ballooning of a blood vessel), and peripheral arterial disease (chronic disease effecting arteries of the limbs)
Studies in the vascular field involve treatments and medications for assessment and treatment of the various vascular diseases. Currently enrolling studies in vascular medicine are listed at the right.
