Neurology
Neurology is the study of the function and disorders of the nervous system. Physicians specializing in the field of neurology are called neurologists and are trained to diagnose, treat, and manage patients with neurological disorders.

These disorders are wide and varied but include:

Headache disorders such as migraine, cluster headache and tension headache

Epilepsy and seizure disorders

Neurodegenerative disorders: Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Lou Gehrig's disease and ataxia.

Cerebrovascular disease: Stroke and transient ischemic attacks (TIA)

Sleep disorders

Demyelinating diseases: Such as multiple sclerosis

Disorders of peripheral nerves: such as Guillain-Barre syndrome.

Research in the field of neurology studies a variety of treatments for these disorders.
