Services to investigators
Providence Medical Research Center provides the following support to investigators:
- Assessment of study feasibility
- Study design and protocol development
- Preparation of Providence research application
- Preparation of Institutional Review Board Applications and Documentation
- Negotiating clinical trial agreements
- Preparation and negotiation of study budget
- Preparation of regulatory documents
- Provision of investigational drug services (required for all drug studies conducted at Sacred Heart)
- Coordination of diagnostic and treatment facilities (laboratory, radiology, special procedures lab, operating room, emergency department and others) in a state-of-the-art tertiary treatment center
- Provision of study coordination (patient recruitment and consent, data collection, sponsor coordination)
- Training clinical staff involved in research trials
- Assistance with investigator initiated protocol/proposal development
- Remuneration of investigators for their participation in sponsored clinical research
- Budgetary management (including billing) for approved studies
Research Registry
Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children's Hospital and Providence Holy Family Hospital require that each patient enrolled in a clinical trial be registered in the hospital Clinical Trials Registry. The registry should be completed within 12 hours of obtaining patient consent.
