- Maintenance of a research support network for more than 600 Sacred Heart physicians
- Evaluate appropriateness for the conducting of proposed research studies at SHMC
- Provision of study coordination (patient recruitment and consent, data collection, sponsor coordination)
- Coordination of diagnostic and treatment facilities (laboratory, radiology, special procedures lab, OR, ER and others in a state of the art tertiary treatment center)
- Preparation and negotiation of study budget and contracts
- Preparation of Institutional Review Board applications and regulatory documents
- Provision of investigational drug services
- Assure NIH required training of physicians and staff in human participant protections education for research
- Training clinical staff involved in research trials
