Description:
This study will be conducted at multiple centers including PMRC. The purpose of this study is to collect information and gain knowledge about a kidney disease called nephrotic syndrome (NS). Individuals with NS will be asked to provide basic health information, blood & urine samples, nail clippings and to undergo a kidney biopsy. The information gathered will be used for future studies in NS.
Eligibility:
- New diagnosis of certain types of kidney diseases (FSGS, MCD, MN, OG)
- Nephrotic syndrome
- A plan for a kidney biopsy recommended by their local nephrologist
- Urinary protein excretion of at least 500 mg/24 hours within 3 months of enrollment

Exclusions:
- Prior organ transplant
- Systemic lupus erythematosus
- Certain other kidney diseases
